What’s in the Free Hot Cocoa Bar Printable Set
Everything comes in one PDF file.
Hot Cocoa Bar sign. A chalkboard background with “Hot Cocoa Bar” in white lettering, a red snowflake mug topped with whipped cream and a candy cane, mittens, a knit hat, and snowflakes. The bottom says “Warm Up Here.” It prints on a standard 8.5×11 page.

HOT COCOA BAR banner. 13 chalkboard pennants:
- 11 letter pennants that spell HOT COCOA BAR
- 1 red mug pennant
- 1 snowflake pennant
Each pennant has a little pine and red berry accent at the bottom and two dots at the top that show you where to punch the holes.

Hot cocoa topping labels. One page of 12 matching chalkboard labels, each with a little picture of the topping:
- Marshmallows
- Whipped Cream
- Peppermint
- Chocolate Chips
- Caramel
- Sprinkles
- Crushed Candy Canes
- Cinnamon
- Toffee Bits
- Mini Candies
- Chocolate Syrup
- 1 blank label to fill in yourself

How to Print Your Hot Cocoa Bar Printables
- Use white cardstock. It holds up better than printer paper and doesn’t curl when you hang it. Something in the 65 to 110 lb range works in most home printers.
- Print at actual size. In your print settings, choose “Actual size” or “100%” so nothing gets cut off. Pick the high-quality setting, since the chalkboard backgrounds use a lot of black ink.
- Cut everything out. Trim the sign along the outer border. Cut each pennant along its edge. Cut the topping labels apart along the light cut lines.
- Punch the holes. Use a hole punch on the two white dots at the top of each pennant.
- String the banner. Thread twine, ribbon, or baker’s twine through the holes. Leave a little space between each pennant so the letters are easy to read.
Tip: Save your printed pieces in a folder or large envelope after the holidays. They’ll be ready to go for next year.

How to Hang the Hot Cocoa Bar Banner
The mug and snowflake pennants give you a couple of different options.
- Use them as spacers: HOT, then the mug, then COCOA, then the snowflake, then BAR. This makes the three words easy to read from across the room.
- Use them as bookends: the mug at the start and the snowflake at the end.
Good spots for the banner:
- Along the front edge of a buffet table
- Across a hutch, shelf, or mirror above your hot cocoa bar
- On the wall behind a side table, held up with removable hooks
- Under the TV for a Christmas movie night

How to Set Up Your Own Hot Cocoa Bar
You don’t need much space. A side table in the dining room, a corner of the kitchen counter, or a bar cart all work.
- Put the sign at the back. Slip it into a frame or lean it on a small easel so it’s the first thing people see.
- Hang the banner above or in front. It makes the whole station look finished.
- Use a tiered tray for toppings. It saves space and puts everything at eye level.
- Fill mason jars or glass jars with toppings so guests can see what’s inside.
- Set out mugs or cups, plus spoons, napkins, and a small bowl for used spoons.
For a big crowd, the easiest way to serve the cocoa itself is a slow cooker. Make a big batch of hot chocolate with hot milk and cocoa powder, then keep it on the warm setting. If you’re using a packaged mix, a carafe of hot water works too. Here’s my crockpot hot chocolate recipe [link].

Hot Cocoa Toppings to Set Out
Pick five or six different toppings so there’s something for everyone without crowding the table.
- Small marshmallows
- Whipped cream
- Chocolate chips
- Crushed candy canes or peppermint chips
- Caramel
- Chocolate syrup
- Sprinkles
- Toffee bits
- Mini candies
- Cinnamon sticks
- Paper straws for stirring
The free topping labels in this printable set cover all of these. Attach them to the front of your jars with double-sided tape or glue dots. You can also punch a hole in one corner and tie them on with twine like little hot cocoa tags. Use the blank label for anything extra, like chopped Andes mints. Write on it with a white paint pen so it matches the chalkboard look.

Simple Tips for a Festive Hot Cocoa Bar
- Set it up in order. Mugs first, then the cocoa, then toppings, then spoons and napkins. The line moves faster.
- Add small scoops or spoons to each jar so nobody has to dig in with their fingers.
- Stir the slow cooker now and then so the cocoa doesn’t scorch on the bottom.
- Put kid-friendly toppings on the lowest level of the tiered tray so little ones can reach.
- Keep extra toppings in the kitchen and refill the jars halfway through the party.
Fun Ways to Use These Printables
A hot cocoa bar fits almost any cold-weather get-together. Here are a few ideas:
- Holiday parties. Set it up next to the dessert table.
- Christmas movie night. Hang the banner under the TV and let everyone build a mug before the movie starts.
- A hot cocoa bar party. Make the cocoa bar the whole theme and invite friends over on a snowy afternoon.
- Winter weddings and showers. The chalkboard style works well for a rustic or cozy theme.
- Classroom, church, or office winter gatherings. The sign and banner make a simple table look festive with almost no work.
- A hot cocoa kit gift. Frame the sign and give it with a couple of mugs and a jar of cocoa mix.
