Patriotic 4th of July Crinkle Cookies
These festive red, white, and blue cookies will be a hit at your next patriotic party. These are soft, chewy, and so pretty to look at!

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 ¾ cups all purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Red and blue gel food coloring
- ¾ cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Beat butter and sugar until fluffy, then mix in egg yolk.
- Combine flour and salt, then stir into butter mixture until dough forms.
- Divide dough in half and tint one portion red and one portion blue.
- Roll dough into 1-tablespoon balls and coat generously in powdered sugar.
- Flatten into thick discs and freeze for at least 1 hour until solid.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Bake frozen cookies for 12 to 15 minutes until puffed and crackled.
- Cool completely on the baking sheet before serving.
